PHYLLIS ELY

HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. - Phyllis Ely, 81, died Saturday at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt., after a short illness. She was born in Sharron, Pa. on Nov. 20, 1905, daughter of the late Walter Cantelo and Mary James. She was the wife of George Ely Sr. He died in 1984. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School and Mildred Elly School and was a former school teacher in Potter Hill. Surviving are four sons, George Jr. of Fairbanks, Alaska, Walter of Hopewell, Va., William of Hoosick, and Charles of Potter Hill; a daughter, Mary Hagendorn of Hoosick; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, Tuesday from 7-6 p.m. and Wednesday from 1-2 pjn. The funeral will be from the funeral home at 2 p.m. Wednesday and burial will be in Hoosick Cemetery. In lieu of Cowers, contributions may made to the Hoosick Fails Rescue Squad.²
