Pearl was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was
baptized in September of 1904 and was also a member of the
Eastern Star. Both of Pearl's grandfathers (John Bond &
Benjamin Blakeney) fought with the 7th Tennessee Cavalry
USA during the Civil War. Both died while prisoners of war.
SERVICES FOR PEARL NORWOOD HELD JAN. 14
Mrs. Pearl Bond Norwood, 77, wife of R.E. Norwood died
Sunday night, Jan 12 at Jackson Madison County General
Hospital. Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dilday
Funeral Home with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Buena
Vista. She also leaves four sons, Paul Norwood and Raymond
Norwood, both of Union City, Wade Norwood with the United
States Army, stationed in Germany and Ralph Norwood of
Newborn; a daughter Mrs. Claudine Heath of Kennett, MO.,
and a sister, Mrs. Berdie Jones of Kennett.4 5 6
