Raymond served during World War II. He was with the 106th
Medical Battalion in New Guinea and the Philippines.
Raymond Eureka Norwood 1921-2003
SOUTH FULTON: Mr. Raymond Eureka Norwood, 81, formerly of
Huntingdon, died on Friday, January 31 at the Union City
Manor and Rehab. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday,
February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Dilday Funer al Home Chapel
with Brother Mitchell Rayburn officiating. Interment
followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr. Norwood was born on
March 24, 1921 in Carroll County to the late Robert E. and
Pearl Bond Norwood. He was a self-employed carpenter and an
army veteran. His first wife, Opal Cable Norwood and his
second wife, Louise Wolverton Norwood, one daughter,
Carolyn Ann Norwood, two brothers, Paul Norwood and Norman
Norwood and two sisters, Opal Jordan and Letha Norwood all
preceded him in death. Survivors include one daughter,
Kathy Norwood Yates and one son, Ray Linwood Norwood, both
of Union City; two brothers, Ralph Norwood and Wade
Norwood, and one sister, Claudine Heath; four grandchildren
and one great-grand child.1 4
