Robert registered for the draft in World War I, but was
never inducted. He was elected constable of Carroll County
Tennessee in 1931.
Robert became a Mason in 1920. In 1936 he was elected
worshipful master of the Hollow Rock Lodge. He was
presented his 50 year pin in 1970 along with Gordon
Browning, former governor of Tennessee.

Carroll Singers Name Officers
HUNTINGDON, Tenn. The Carroll County Singing Convention
Convention at its annual fall meeting at Huntingdon High
School Auditorium, elected Claude Davis president for the
1962-63 year. Other officers elected are: Martin May,
vice-president, and Mrs. Claude Davis,
secretary-treasurer. Committee chairman are Pat Cox, Owen
Webb, Willis Brandon, Robbie Norwood and Ed Glisson Rodney
Chandler was elected pianist and Miss Mozelle Jones
assistant pianist.
SERVICES FOR ROBERT NORWOOD JUNE 29
Services for Robert E. (Robbie) Norwood, 83, were held
Saturday, June 29, 2 p.m. at Dilday Funeral Home with
burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Buena Vista, with
Masonic services held at the grave by Hollow Rock Lodge.
Mr. Norwood, a retired carpenter, died Thursday at Kennett,
Mo. He was a member of the Baptist Church, a member of the
Hollow Rock Masonic Lodge and a member of the Eastern Star.
His wife, Mrs. Pearl Norwood died in 1969. He formally
lived in Huntingdon until moving to Kennett to live with a
daughter. Surviving are four sons, Paul Norwood and Ray
Norwood, both of Union City, Wade Norwood of Prattville,
Ala. And Ralph Norwood of Dyersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy
Heath of Kennett, MO.; and a sister, Mrs. America Abbott of
Oak Ridge. Rev. Fred Price of McKenzie officiated5 6 7 8
