Mrs. Ruby Kinq
Mrs. Ruby Madeline King, 57, of 65 Fox St. died at 4:10
a.m. Sunday in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital
following a lengthy illness, she was an employe in the Lab
Department of General Hospital. Funeral services will be at
3 p.m. Tuesday at the Hillcrest Baptist Church with the
Rev. James Douglass officiating. Burial will be in Highland
Memorial Gardens with George A. Smith and Sons in charge.
Mrs. King was born In Carroll County near Bunea Vista
Community, daughter of the late Billy and Florence Boyd
Norwood. She moved to Jackson with her parents at an early
age and attended public schools here. She was a member of
the Hillcrest Baptist Church and of the Hazel Lynch Sunday
School Class. She was married Sept. 17, 1935 to Charles W.
King, who survives. Other survivors include: a son, Charles
W. King Jr. of Beech Bluff; two brothers, Clifford Norwood
of Lexington and Robbie Norwood of Kennet, Mo.; a sister,
Mrs. A. E. Abbott of Oak Ridge; two foster granddaughters;
two foster grandsons and a foster great-grandson. Another
sister. Mrs. Lydia Temple, preceded her in death several
years ago. Pallbearers to serve include Frank Stovall,
Larry McCaskett, Pete Rivers, Odie Norwood, Paul Norwood
and R. E. Norwood. The body will remain in the funeral home.1
