of James Kilbreath at Andersonville Prison.

AT REST - Thomas J. Norwood departed this life March 7,
1933; age 92 yrs., 8 mos., and 27 days. He was married to
Elizabeth Pinkston about 70 years ago. She preceded him to
her grave about 14 years. To this union were born four
children, but all except one child, a daughter, Mrs. Martha
Ann Clark, have passed to the great beyond. He is also
survived by a number of grandchildren, also great
grandchildren, and a number of great, great grandchildren,
and a number of relatives and friends to mourn his death.
He was kind and gentle; always patient. Through his
sickness he often time spoke of his eternal home, and of
meeting loved ones in their heavenly mansion. It was sad to
give him up, but our loss is his gain. His eye sight almost
completely left him about ten years ago. But he has gone to
live where the blind shall receive their sight, for
"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God." He
enlisted in the Federal army when a young man, and was a
noble, brave soldier throughout the war. He was captured
and put in prison at Andersonville, Ga. There he suffered
untold agonies for several long months. He professed faith
in Christ more than threescore years ago, and had been a
member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist church over
50 years, and was a faithful member until death. He was
laid to rest on March 8 in the Butler cemetery, with
funeral services conducted by the Rev. Walter Joyner. He's
at rest from toil and trouble, Where the blind receive
their sight, In a p1ace of endless Glory In that Heavenly
Home -- so bright.
T. J. NORWOOD. HUNTINGDON, Tenn., March. 8.-- Norwood, 93,
