Ethel E. Ellis. Dexter, Dies
DEXTER - Mrs. Ethel E. Ellis, 70 died Thursday at her home.
She was born Feb. 25, 1897, in Buena Vista, Tenn. she lived
in Tennessee until 1939 when she moved to Missouri. Mrs.
Ellis lived near Hayti and Malden before moving to Dexter.
She was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church in
Holladay, Tenn. She married Giles V. Ellis Oct 9 1915. Her
husband survives. ' Other survivors are six sons, R.K.
Ellis, Illa D. Ellis, both of Dexter, Wilburn Ellis
Harrisburg Ill., Marion Ellis, Enfield, Ill., Elmer Ellis,
Huntington, Tenn., and Loyce Ellis, Bellflower, Calif.;
five daughters, Mrs. Sally King, Mrs. Mary Lewis, both of
Dexter, Mrs. Madelle Johnson, Corning, Ark. Mrs. Genelle
Griggs, Wayne Mich., and Mrs. Odessa Downing, Cahokia,
Ill.; two sisters, Mrs Verda Jones, Kennett, and Mrs.
Pearlie Norwood, Huntington; 28 grandchildren and three
great- grandchildren, services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday
in the Second General Baptist church with the Rev. H. Worth
of Essex officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lawrence Taylor
of Essex, Burial will be in the Dexter cemetery with
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in charge.1
