GILES V. ELLIS
DEXTER - Giles Vick Ellis, 81, died Sunday at his home. He
was born April 21, 1892 at Holiday, Tenn. His first wife,
Ethel Bond Ellis, died Aug. 10, 1967. On April 11, 1970, he
married Ethel Bess, who survives. Also surviving are five
daughters, Mary Lewis of Dexter, Sally King and Ila Ellis
of Essex, Madelle Johnson of Corning, Ark., Jenelle Griggs
of Wayne, Mich., and Odessa Downing of St. Louis; five
sons, R. K. Ellis of Dexter, Wilbur Ellis of Harrisburg,
Ill., Marion Ellis of Enfield, Ill., Elmer Ellis of
Huntingdon, Tenn., and Loyce Ellis of West Frankfort, Ill.;
one stepson, Roy Bess of St. Louis; two stepdaughters,
Violet Scowden of Columbia City, Ind., and Lucille
Krackameyer of Atlanta, Ga.; and 29 grandchildren and 14
great- grandchildren. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today
at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services
are scheduled at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Revs. H. Worth and
Lawrence Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Dexter
Cemetery.5
