FESMIRE, Mrs. Eula Hoy Age 89 years, of McKendree Manor,
January 13, 1987. She is the widow of Rev. W.J. Fesmire.
Survived by daughters, Mrs. Anne Stapp, Mrs. Evelyn
Simmons; sons, Dr. Robert Fesmire, Fleetwood C. Fesmire,
Wilbur J. Fesmire; sisters, Mrs. Hazel Strickland, Mrs.
Ollie Prince, Mrs. Kate Smith, all of Camden; thirteen
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Funeral services 2
p.m. Thursday in the Woodlawn Chapel with Rev. Fred
Blankenship officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation with the
family Wednesday 6 to 8 p.m. WOODLAWN FUNERAL HOME.

Eula Hoy Fesmire dies after long illness
Eula Hoy Fesmire, 89, died last night in McKendree Manor,
after a long illness. Services will be held tomorrow at a
time to be announced at Woodlawn Funeral Home. Burial will
be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6
p.m. until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Fesmire
was the widow of the Rev. W.J. Fesmire, a Methodist
minister minister for 35 years and a state correspondent
for The Tennessean for 30 years while he served pastorates
in the Midstate area and as superintendent superintendent
of the church's Baxter Lawrenceburg District He had also
written more than 300 short religious "meditations" for The
Tennessean before his death in 1970. Mrs. Fesmire, a native
of Benton County, was an active Republican for many years.
She was an honorary colonel on the staff of former Gov.
Winfield Dunn. Survivors include three sons. Dr. Robert
Fesmire and Wilburg Fesmire, Nashville, and Fleetwood
Fesmire, Tallahassee, Fla; two daughters, Anne Stapp,
Chattanooga and Evelyn Simmons, Memphis; three sisters,
Kate Smith, Ollie Prince and Hazel Strickland, Camden,
Tenn.; 13 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren.4 5
