FRED R. SMOTHERS, 79, Earls Lane, Apopka, died Sunday, Feb. 10. Mr. Smothers was a forklift operator at Plymouth Citrus. Born in Bruton County, Tenn., he moved to Central Florida in 1942. He was a member of Harvest Church of God, Ocoee. Survivors: wife, Velma C.; son, Fred R. Jr., Matthews, MC.; brother, Floyd, Apopka; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home-Apopka Chapel.²
