From the Bennington Evening Banner, Bennington, VT., Monday, December 28, 1914

DWIGHT H. RUDD Well Known Bennington Veteran Died Saturday Night Dwight H. Rudd, a long time and well known resident of Bennington, died Saturday night at his home on Grove street. He had been gradually failing for some months. Hardening of the arteries and complications were the cause of death. The deceased had been a farmer and a laborer and until his last illness had been an active and well preserved man. He was a veteran of the civil war, a member of company A, 14th Vermont regiment of volunteers. He was twice married. His second wife, who was Mrs. Bertha Potter, and two sons, Harold and Howard survive. He also leaves two brothers, Chauncey Rudd at present living in East Hoosick and Henry Rudd of this village and one sister, Miss Minnie Rudd of Camden, Me. The funeral will be held from the house Tuesday afternoon, Rev. W. F. Meyer, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating and the burial will be in the village cemetery.4
