From the North Adams Transcript (North Adams, Massachusetts) September 13, 1935 Hoosick Native Dies Fenton James died very suddenly Tuesday. While walking across the field from his home to the Cooper farm with two other men he spoke and collapsed in their arms and died instantly. Mr. James was born in Hoosick on August 8, 1864, a son of Randall and Harriett James. He was a member of All Saints church at Hoosick where the funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. John Knox Tibbits officiated. Interment was in Mapletown cemetery. Mr. James is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Alice Wenzel of Watervliet, Mrs. Charlotte Slade of North Adams, Mrs. Mary Cantelo of Hoosick, Mrs. Nellie Marshall of Hoosick Falls and Mrs. Jessie Tatro of North Petersburg and two brothers, Hawley James of Hoosick and Dexter James of Williamstown.1
