JOEL O. BUTLER
Brother Joel O. Butler was born Dec. 17, 1850; departed
this life March 30, 1931, aged 80 years, 3 months and 13
days. He was married to Mrs. S. F. Roberson, Aug. 15, 1872.
To this union was born eight children. Mrs. Roberson and
two of the children preceded him to the grave. Later Mr.
Buter was married to D. A. Nolen. To this union was born
two children of whom one survive. Mr. Butler professed
faith in Christ over half a century ago and united with the
church at Oak Grove, of which he was a devoted member until
his death. He was a deacon of the church. He leaves a wife,
one sister and seven children and a host of friends to
mourn his death. He will be missed in the church and
community. His life was in accord with the Scripture.

JOEL BUTLERÙCbÙD ÙC/bÙDBruceton. Tenn. April 1 (Spl.) Funeral
services for Joel Butler. 78 who died at his home near
Dollar was held at the Oak Grove church conducted by the
Rev. J. N. Joyner Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in the Oak
Grove Cemetery. Mr. Butler was married four times and is
survived by his last wife and seven children, four sons and
three daughters. They are Alfred of Martin. George of
Mississippi, Newt of Oklahoma, and Clint of the Dollar
community: Mrs. Lizzie Pace, Mrs. Denia Edwards and Mrs.
Pearl Melton.1
