Mrs Viola Cooper French
On Wednesday morning at 4:30 a.m., Mrs Viola Cooper French
passed away at her home on West 3rd Street, Luverne, after
a long illness. She had been in failing health for several
years and all that medical science could do could not
relieve her. She was born in Beuna Vista, Tennessee on
November 10,1874 and was married to Mr Pinkney Delane
French on December 27,1899. She was a member of the Baptist
Church and her sweetness of Christian character has
endeared her to the hearts of many who grieved at her
Passing. She is survived by her husband and eight children,
four daughters, Mrs Kynard of Selma, and Misses Lillie,
Lannie and Bessie French; four sons, Richard, Hurl, Cooper
and Thomas French all of Luverne. Four brothers W.T. Cooper
of Montogomery; Edgar Cooper of Memphis, Tenn; E.R. Cooper
of Camden, Tenn. and Lester Cooper of Legion, Texas. Two
sisters Mrs Fannie Cooley and Mrs Othella Kee of Camden,
Tenn. Funeral services were held at Live Oak cemetery in
Selma, Al. at 10 o'clock Thursday morning. Active pall
bearers; Messrs; T.W. Shows, J.D. Smith; R.I. Fundabunk,
