E. M. Herriman Dies Early Today Of Heart Attack
Earl M Herriman, 51, of Bemis died this morning at 2:30 in
the Jackson - Madison County General Hospital where he was
carried ten days ago for minor surgery. He died as a result
of a heart attack. Funeral services will be held Thursday
afternoon at 3 o'clock from the First Baptist Church in
Bemis with Rev. Paul Waters officiating. Burial will be in
Hollywood Cemetery. Mr. Herriman was born and reared in
Hardeman County in the Piney Grove Community and had lived
in Bemis for the past 34 years, where he had been an
employee of the Bemis Bag Company since that time. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church in Bemis, the J. L. Huff
Sunday School Class, The 20-Year Club and the Woodmen of
the World Bemis Camp No. 121. He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Justine Boyd Herriman, a son, Herrell W. Herriman of
Duluth, Minn., his mother, Mrs. Annie Wiggins Herriman or
Bemis, three brothers, Oscar Herriman of Bemis, Lester
Herriman of Shelbyville, Tenn., and George Herriman of
Arlington, Va., three sisters, Mrs. W. E. Pratt and Mrs.
Frank Canovan, both of Bemis and Mrs. Wesley Grace of
Jackson. His body will be at Smith Fu neral Home until the
funeral hour.2
