Bertha Lula Nolen Parish PARISH, BERTHA LULA NOLEN - Age 89 years, passed away December 17, 1996 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mariorie Myers in Nashville, TN after an extended illness. She was formerly of Huntingdon, Huntingdon, TN. Mrs. Parish was born April 18, 1907 at Buena Vista, TN. She was the daughter of the late Aulie Oliver and Florence Florence Lee Clark Nolen. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wylie Parish and her daughter, Mavis Larue Allen; brothers, Gaither Nolen and Willie Nolen. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Harris and husband, Robert of Houston, TX, Mariorie Myers and husband, Marion of Nashville, TN; son, John Harold Parish and wife. Flora of Jacksonville, FL; and son-in-law, George Allen of Jackson, Jackson, TN. She is also survived by grandchildren, Gregory Moore, Susan Moore, Victor and Janet Harris, John Harris, Anita and William R. Appleton, Barbara and Morris Campbell, Linda and Lanny Gunter, Melissa and Jason Bunch, Mariorie Parish, Marcia and Homer Lindsey, John and Kath Allen, Phillip and Darlene Allen & Patty and J.D. Hale; great-grandchildren, Victor Harris, Jr., Houston Harris, Forrest Harris, Julie Harris, Jacqueline & Brett Rimer, Kimberly Appleton, Mathew Campbell, Laura Gunter, Chris Gunter, Benjamin Allen, Nicholas Allen, Joshua Allen, Brook Hale, David Hale and J.D. Hale. Mrs. Parish was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church near Buena Vista, TN. She was retired from Henry I. Seigel Garment Factory in Bruceton, TN. For many years she was a volunteer with the Welfare Department of Carroll County, TN. She loved her family, her friends and her "garden". She will be missed by all of us. Her remains are at Dilday Funeral Home, Huntingdon, TN, where visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 1996. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 :00 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 1996 at the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home by Bro. James L. Fortner. Interment Prospect Cemetery, Hollow Rock, TN.
