Mrs. Hazel Irene Bond, 78, Steele, Mo. died Monday, June 11, 1990 at the Hopedale Nursing Home in Hopedale, Ill.

Daughter of the late Elbert and Rebecca Foster Wright, she was born March 13, 1912 in Pemiscot County, Mo.A member of the First Baptist Church, she was also a homemaker, Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a New Survey Ladies Extension Club member, an active volunteer in the Senior Citizens Program, and wrote Local News for The Steele Enterprise.

On November 14, 1929 she married Otis M. Bond in Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death March 11, 1947. Three brothers, a sister, and a grandson also preceded her in death. She leaves three sons: Harold Bond of Armington, Ill., Darrell Bond of Pekin, Ill., and Carroll Bond of Van Buren, Ark.; Two daughters, Flora Felker of Pekin and Doris Ivy of Jonesboro, Ark.; Two brothers: Leonard Wright of San Jose, Calif. and Vernon (Slug) Wright of Reno, Nevada; Eleven grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Rev. James McCrary conducted funeral services for Mrs. Bond Saturday June 16, 1990 at 10:00 a.m. at Bradshaw German-Funeral Home Chapel at Steele. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with arrangements by Bradshaw German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele. Pallbearers were Darrell Thrasher, Gary Ivy, Eddy Felder, Ronnie Ivy, Stephen ivy and Darren Thrasher.2 1
