Funeral services were held Monday, September 8, 1952 at the
Baptist Church in Steele for Mrs. Addie Rebecca Wright, who
died September 7, 1952 at the age of 67 years. 2 months and
19 days.
Mrs. Wright was born June 18, 1885, in Wayne County, Tenn.
She moved to this community in 1902 and later married
Elbert Wright, who was well known in this community, having
served many years on the local school board.
Mrs. Wright, at the time of her death, was a charter member
of the local chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, No.
330, and also a member of the New Survey Women's Extension
Club.
Survivors of the deceased are: three sons, Alfred of
Deering; Leonard of Detroit, Mich.; and Vernon of Steele;
two daughters: Mrs. Hazel Bond, Steele and Mrs. Edna
Hester, Steele; nine grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; one sister Mrs. Mary Connelly, St.
Louis and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rev. W.H. Cook conducted the services and interment was in
Mount Zion Cemetery. German Funeral Home had charge of the
arrangements.
Pallbearers were Max Green, Delbert Riddick, Fred Swindle,
Arthur Hester, Barney Robinson and Jim Statler.1
