Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie V. Gillett, mother of E.R. Gillett, proprietor of the Bristol Theater of Memphis, were held at 1pm today (4/16/1940) in Springdale, Ark, her former home. Mrs. Gillett died Sunday in Kansas City, MO, where she had gone to visit her daughter, Mrs. A.O. Shelton, two weeks ago. She had lived in Springdale Arkansas and Fort Smith, Ark, all her life. She had often visited in Memphis, had spent a few months here the past year and had recently been visiting her children in California. She was 68. Mrs. Gillett leaves six other children, O.H. Gillett, Fort Smith, V.E. and Edwin Gillett, Bakersfield, CA, Mrs. Jewell Faubus, Montivello, Cal, Mrs. Howard Schuster and Miss Doris Gillett, Fort Smith.³
