Walter Blakney, 87, Dies At Caddo Home
CADDO - Walter William Blakney, 87, a resident of Indian
Territory and Oklahoma since before the turn of the
century, died at his home here today, after a three months
illness. Funeral rites will be held at the Caddo Nazarene
church Friday at 2. p.m. with Rev. Harold Raines
officiating, and burial, under direction of Murray Funeral
service, will be in the Caddo cemetery. Grandsons will be
pallbearers. A native of Mississippi, Mr. Blakney was born
March 4. 1870 and moved to Indian, Territory near Caddo in
1898. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Nazarene
church.
Survivors include two sons. Perry Blakney, Caddo; and David
Blakney, Freeport, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Lillie
Miller, Caddo; and Mrs. Daisy Morrison. Electra, Texas; a
brother, Theron Blakney, Caddo: 10 grandchildren and six
great grandchildren.
