MRS SARAH J BOYD DIES IN BRUCETON
Bruceton Tenn April 3-(Special)- Mr Sarah J Boyd 58 wife Of
the Rev T M Boyd postmaster Of this city Baptist minister
and member of the Carroll County Board of Education died at
the family home Thursday morning following a stroke of
paralysis which came Saturday. The funeral services were
held Friday afternoon from the First Baptist Church of
Bruceton conducted by Elder W C Pope of Pope assisted by
the Rev J B Alexander of this city. The interment was in
the Prospect Cemetery at Hollow Rock. Deceased suffered a
stroke of paralysis in June 1918 while engaged in Red Cross
Work at Parsons. The second stroke came in 1922 and the
third stroke last Saturday. She had been an invalid for
more than twelve years. Mrs Boyd was the daughter of J F
Patterson of Perry County. She had been married for
thirty-live years. She had been a member of the Baptist
Church for many years and was faithful to all her duties.
Surviving her are seven children as follows: Mrs J A Raines
of Parsons, Mrs S P Smith Atlanta, Mrs A Fristoe, Miss
Verna, J R, Tulois and Spurgeon Boyd of Bruceton. She is
also survived by four brothers W T Patterson Cuba Landing J
H Patterson Humboldt: J J Patterson Parsons and one sister
Mrs Addle Conrad Sugar Tree.3
