Manuel Deniz Silveira, 81, 154 Peckham Lane, Middlelown, a retired dairy farmer who was active in town politics, died yesterday at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Scares Silveira. Mr. Silveira came to the United States from The Azores 1910, settling in Middletown where he served on the Republican Town Committee for 12 years. He also was one founders of the Jesus Saviour Parish. Born April 12, 1896, on St. George Island in The Azores, was Ihe son of the late Diniz Silveira and the Felicidade Roderiques Silveira. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Joseph D. Silveira, Manuel D.Silveira and John Silveira, all of Middletown; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Depart of Portsmouth, Mrs. Anna S. Raposa and Mrs. S. Pasquale , Middletown; a sister, Mrs. Lila Mendes of Middletown; and grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
