SHREWSBURY -Charles R. Donath, 65, of 37 Laurel St., died Sunday at the Beth Israel Hospital, Newark. Mr. Donath was born in New York City and lived in Jersey City, Bayonne, Red Bank for 20 years and Fair Haven for four years before moving here two months ago. He was employed as a para-mutual clerk at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, Rutherford. Mr. Donath also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a past president of the Booster Club of Red Bank Catholic High School. He was also active with fundraising for St. James Grammar School. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Sullivan; three sons, Dennis Donath of Beaver Falls, Pa.; Eric Donath of Seminole, Fla., and Charles Donath, here; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Jane Cantello, with whom he and his wife lived, and Mrs. Mary Kent of Concord, Cal., and 12 grandchildren. The John E. Day Funeral Home, Red Bank, is in charge of arrangements.²
