Robert Norwood, 30, Discovered Dangling from Rope at Barn
HUNTINGDON, Tenn.; July 7 Robert Norwood, 30, WPA worker
who lives near Buena Vista, southeast of Huntingdon,
committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself at the barn
on the Jim Ridings farm. Norwood was found dangling from
the rafter of the barn with a one-inch grass rope about his
neck. Investigation showed tracks in the loft and one plank
moved, this being the hole through which he threw himself.
The Ridings farm Is the home of his wife. Mr. Norwood is
survived by his wife, one two-year-old daughter, and one
brother, Virgil of Buena Vista. Funeral arrangements have
not benn completed. Friends of Mr. Norwood explained that
he had lately had some business difficulties, which in all
probality caused the hanging.2
