Ora Franks Smothers homemaker FLORENCE Ora Franks Smothers,
93, a homemaker, died of heart failure Thursday at River
Oaks Hospital in Flo-wood. Services are 2 p.m. today at
Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson with burial in
Lakewood Memorial Gardens. Visitation is after noon today
at the funeral home. Mrs. Smothers, a Decatur County,
Tenn., native, had lived in Florence three years, moving
from Jackson, where she was a longtime resident. She was a
member of Temple Baptist Church in Jackson. She had taught
school in Tennessee many years ago before moving to
Mississippi. Survivors include: daughter, Maxine Duke Berry
of Newhebron; sister, Clarice Walker of Bruceton, Tenn.;
brother, Grady Franks of Earle, Ark.; and three
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorials may be
made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Mississippi.3
