Mrs. Sallie Norwood.
The remains of Mrs. Sallie Norwood, who died at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Roach, near Dozier, Texas on the
10th. inst., were interred at the old family burying ground
near Stevenson on Sunday. Mrs. Norwood was the mother of
Mrs S. H. Glover of Carpenter, Ala., and of Mrs. Wallace
Roach and S. W. Norwood of Texas, the latter of whom
accompanied the remains from Texas. Mrs. Norwood was a
woman of lofty character and is remembered throughout the
upper end of this county for her many noble and generous
deeds and her kindly words of sympathy and affection, and
her death will bring sorrow to all who had the pleasure of
knowing her.2
