Odie Samuel Norwood, 83, of Memphis, TN, died March 16,
2016. Odie was proceeded in death by his parents, Clifford
& Minnie Norwood, his son, Randy Norwood, and his brother,
Leon Norwood. He is survived by his loving spouse Irene
Brittain Norwood, his son, Tommy Norwood (Brenda), his
daughter, Dianne Harrison (Jim), his sister, Martha Neil
Darrough, his 7 grandchildren, T.J. Norwood, Kelly Burke,
Codie Burke, Joe Harrison, Stacey Hays, April Hamilton, &
Dallas Hemsley, and 4 great grandchildren, Madison Burke,
Eleanor Hays, Bryson Burke, and Maranda Jones Odie served
his country in the US Air Force, in both the Korean and
Vietnam Wars, and retired honorably, as a Master Sargent.
He later retired as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal
Service, with the White Station Branch. Odie was a member
of New Church Memphis, a 32nd Degree Mason with the
Bartlett Masonic Lodge #211, and a Past Worthy Patron of
Woodlawn Order of Eastern Star #74. Visitation and service
will be held at High Point Funeral Home, 3788 Summer
Avenue, Memphis, TN, with visitation on Thursday, March 17,
2016, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and service on Friday, March 18,
2016 at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill East,
2440 Whitten Rd, Memphis, TN. Arrangements have been
entrusted to High Point Funeral Home (Obituary published by
