DIES IN FORT SMITH
George Baldwin a former resident of Poteau died at the home
of a daughter in Fort Smith on Tuesday of this week. Mr
Baldwrin had been in failing health for some time and death
came as a welcome release from his suffering. He was a
carpenter by trade and was a resident of Poteau for many
years. Besides a son Leonard he survived by six daughters
Mrs C Carlton of McAlester Mrs Cates and Misses Lucy and
Lois Baldwin of Poteau and two daughters in Fort Smith The
remains were brought to Poteau and after funeral services
at ifce home of Mrs Cates conducted by Rev J H Byers
interment was made at Oakland cemetery.5 7
