Funeral in Ark for father of Pawneean

John Riley Boyd 89 father of Mrs A R (Alma) Garlington Pawnee died Wednesday morning at Rogers Ark following several month's illness Mrs Garlington wife of Pawnee County Agent A R Garlington was in Rogers at the time of his death. Born Feb 23 1871 at Huntingdon Tenn he came to Bentonville Ark in 1901 where he worked as a machinist He set up the machinery for the first power plant in Bentonvil and in 1905 he moved to Rogers where he set up equipment for the light plant and water works there Boyd became a Mason at the age of 21 and had been in that organization for 68 years In addition to his daughter here Mr Boyd is survived by his wife Anna Maude and two sons Clarence of Mountainberg Ark and Cargile of Fresno Calif and by 8 grandchildren Funeral services will be held this afternoon Thursday March 31 at 2 pm at the Sunny Side Baptist church in Rogers and burial will be made at the Rogers cemetery following Masonic graveside rites.³
