Ferdinand French who resided in the Rowland Mill community
was instantly killed last Wednesday afternoon by train No.
3 as he and his son Bill French, were driving across the
Railroad tracks at the section houses. Young French was
driving the car but failed to stop to see if any train was
coming, he was slightly hurt while his father was hurled to
his death. Mr. French is survived by a wife who was a
daughter of Billie Cole. He also leaves several children
all who are married except one boy. The body was given
burial at Cross Roads cemetery.3
