August C. Freund Rites Tomorrow
August Carl Freund, 76, of 1409 Gartland Ave., a retired
city waterworks employe, died of arteriosclerosis yesterday
in a Nashville hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m.
tomorrow at Eastland Funeral Home. Dr. I. W. Gernert will
officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A native
of Nashville. Freund was a son of August and Emma Brogg
Freund. In 1908 he married Miss Nelle Mai Hildebrand of
Nashville. She died in 1944. Freund was a member of First
Lutheran Church., and a former member of the Moose Lodge.
He is survived bv four sons. John A.. Nashville. Carl J..
Deer- field. Ill., August S.. Minneapolis, and the Rev.
Henry O. Freund, Port Arkansas. Tex.; three daughters, Mrs.
R. W. Lifsev and Miss Thelma Freund. both of Nashville, and
Mrs. J. W. OldiBrimm, Orange. Texas; a brother, Jake
Freund, Lawrenceburg. Tenn.; 16 grandchildren, and four
great-grandchildren.1
