MILAN, Tenn., Aug. 16-Services for Martin V. Hatley, who
died at his home Wednesday morning, will be held Thursday
afternoon at 3 at the Eastview Baptist Church near Camden.
The Rev. H. J. Huey will officiate. Masonic rites will be
held at the grave in the Church cemetery with Bodkin
Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Hatley, 54, had been ill five
months. He was born in Benton County and moved to Milan 12
years ago. He operated a grocery store here. His wife. the
former Miss Lottie Lynch, died in March, 1950. Mr. Hatley
was a Baptist and a member of the Milan Masonic Lodge. He
leaves four daughters, Mrs. Flossie Connell of Detroit;
Mrg. Golden Connell Idlewild, Tenn., Miss Guineth Hatley
and Miss Peggy Hatley of Milan; his mother, Mrs. Lillie
Smothers of Milan, and a brother, Bob Hatley of Camden.1
