HEDGES, BENJAMIN F (T)), Co E, private, enlisted for 3
years in Huntingdon, TN on 6/28/62 and mustered at
Humboldt, TN on 8/11/62 at about 21. He was captured and
paroled at the battle of Trenton, TN on 12/20/64. Captured
again with the regiment at Union City, TN on 3/24/64,
Hedges was taken to Andersonville Prison in Georgia where
he died on 1/10/65 of scrobutus (scurvy). He is presumed
buried in the Andersonville National Cemetery, probably as
an unknown. Both his Andersonville roll and his wife's
pension list him as Benjamin F Hedges. Martha Hedges'
widow's applied for a pension in 1870. MR #8182
