Rev. Green Cooper dies at 104
CAMDEN Services for the Rev. John Green Cooper, 104,
retired Baptist minister, were this morning at
Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Davis
officiating. Burial was in Benton Memorial Gardens. The
Rev. Cooper died Tuesday night at Care Inn nursing home in
Huntingdon after a lengthy illness. He was a Carroll County
native and a member of East Side Baptist Church, he was a
pastor for more than 55 years of churches in Benton and
Carroll counties. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs.
Gertrude Peebles and Mrs. Ina Mae Park, both of Buena Vista
; four sons, Robert Cooper of Dallas, and Melburn Cooper,
Gil-Ion Cooper and John G. Cooper Jr., all of Phoenix,
Ariz. ; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.2
