Carlos Howard Butler
HOLLOW ROCK - Services for Carlos Howard Butler, 85, were
today at Oak Grove Baptist Church near Buena Vista with the
Rev. Lawton Brewer and the Rev. Fred Prince officiating.
Masonic services were at the church cemetery. Mr. Butler, a
retired carpenter and contractor, died Saturday afternoon
at Ridgewood Health Care Center in Milan after a long
illness. A Buena Vista area native, he had been a member of
Oak Grove Baptist Church since August 1916. He also
belonged belonged to Hollow Rock Masonic Lodge 288 and
Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are his wife, Lillie
Smothers Butler; a son, Wayne Butler of Beaumont, Texas;
two sisters, Atha Kee and Lurlon White, both of Jackson ; a
granddaughter; and three greatgrandchildren. Bruceton
Funeral Home was in charge.1
