PARK, ROBERT W(ILSON), Companies A & I, private, enlisted
by Captain King for 3 years at Huntingdon, TN on 1/5/64 and
mustered at Paducah, KY on 5/14/64 at age 22 (b.
2/24/1838). He was 5'8" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes,
black hair, a farmer, born in Carroll Co, TN. He received
a $300 bounty for enlistment. There is no evidence in the
muster rolls that he was surrendered with the regiment at
Union City TN on 3/24/64. The men not captured were
stationed mostly in Columbus, KY in the summer of 1864 and
in Paducah, KY in the fall. He was discharged with the
regiment when it disbanded at Nashville, TN on 8/9/65.
Park applied for an invalid pension in 1877. He died on
9/7/1887 and is buried in the Horton-Park Cemetery in
Carroll Co, TN with a military marker. His wife, Martha
Jane Cole, lived in Hollow Rock, TN in the 1890 census.
She applied for a widow's pension in 1889. Park was the
son of Joshua and Sarah Griffis Park. MR #12961
