Luther Jordan
BRUCETON Services for William Luther Jordan, 77, will be at
2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev.
John Hedge officiating. Burial will be in the church
cemetery with Bruceton Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Jordan
died Thursday afternoon at Portsmouth (Va.) General
Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of Benton
County, but had moved several years ago to Portsmouth to be
with his family after his health failed. He was a member of
Pleasant Hill Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Beu-lah
McEwen Jordan of Portsmouth; seven daughters, Mrs. Wretha
Kelly of Hampton, Va., Mrs. Reba Blount of Norfolk, Va.,
Mrs. Dorothy Chambless of Tu-scumbia, Ala., Mrs. Peggy
Belmont of Exeter, N.H., Mrs. Nancy Allen of Athens, Ga.,
Mrs. Mary Stanley of Jacksonville, N.C., and Mrs. Janice
Ferguson of Seaford, Va. ; three sons, Junior Coleman of
Portsmouth, Weldon Jordan of Chicago and William Jordan of
. Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Lela Barnes and Mrs. Lola
Bond, both of Hendersonville, Mrs. Lottie Stewart of Los
Alamos, N.M., and Mrs. Lillian Polichany of Dayton, Ohio;
two brothers, Lloyd Jordan of Nashville and Lewis Jordan of
Livermore, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.3
